Giorgia Gonzalez is really the heart of the school. She is both our Centre Manager, and our Customer Support Manager, so is here to help you get the most out of living and studying English in Brighton.

Where are you from?

I am from a town in the centre of Italy called Fabriano.

When did you move to Brighton and why?

That’s a good question! I came to Brighton to work as an activity leader for a summer school back in 2013. After that summer, I moved back to Italy and decided to go and live in Holland for a while where part of my family is from but  I had to change my plans and remain in Italy for a bit longer. I always loved travelling and I couldn’t see myself living in my hometown for much longer so, after contacting some schools abroad, I got a job in Worthing (just 20 min from Brighton) and I finally moved there permanently in April 2014. The rest is history! 8 years later I am still here in the UK and now live in Brighton with my husband, young daughter, cat, and dog.

What do you love most about Brighton?

I love Brighton, it has everything, the beach, the South Downs, and of course the wonderful city life! I love that there is always something going on no matter the season!

Tell us a bit about your background – did you work in EFL before Castle School?

I started as an activity leader and I have had the opportunity to work in many different jobs in several language schools in Brighton. I have worked as a groups officer, accommodation officer, administrator, marketing manager – a little of everything! It has given me a great insight into everything about the student experience. Before moving to the UK, I finished my MA degree in languages and another Masters in Tourism. I have also worked as a group leader, taking groups of kids abroad for English courses, and even been an agent for a while too.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love  making students’ experiences real! Apart from my role as Centre Manager, I also focus on groups business making sure everything is organised at a very high level for their stay and making new contacts with agents from all over the world.
